Paidy's Open Source Tech Journey
How To Scale A Payments Platform
主催 : Paidy
イベントの説明
In the payment services market, staying a market leader means processing millions of mobile, online and in-store transactions whilst dealing with increasing customer expectations, cost pressures and regulatory demands. This requires a data platform and cloud services that are scalable, reliable, secure, and flexible.
Paidy Inc. was founded with the mission to create a payment system that "removes barriers and embraces simplicity”, offering its frictionless, accessible payments platform all across Japan. Paidy started Japan’s first instant post-pay credit service for ecommerce consumers in October 2014. Paidy increases merchant revenues by reducing incomplete transactions, increasing conversion rates, boosting average order values, and facilitating easy repeat buying.
Following a significant funding round in 2018, and large scale growth plans in 2019, Paidy is here to discuss their technology journey, decisions made along the way, and the importance of getting these decisions right to set up for major scale moving forward. In this talk, they will also discuss;
- How to utilise Open Source solutions such as Apache Cassandra and Apache Kafka to keep up with the competitive demands of the industry.
- Paidy's journey to Open Source use-case, why Kafka and Cassandra have been selected as the data backbone of the platform
- Security and Always on Availability; Overcoming compliance challenges with zero downtime
- Challenges and pitfalls in their journey: Key considerations in shifting to an event-sourced architecture
